Abstract

National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) mentioned that students will join the teaching profession not by chance but by choice. They recommended a four-year integrated teacher education program (ITEP). The Gazette of India notification (26th October 2021) was released by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to implement the NEP:2020 recommendations in the TEI. On that, NCTE mentioned ITEP (No. 15). UG teacher education courses, as per the ITEP directives, will be i.BA BEd ii.BSc BEd iii.BCom BEd. In Physical Education, there are three courses i. Diploma in Physical Education (No. 6) ii. Bachelor of Physical Education (No 7) iii. Master of Physical Education (No 8).
